I'd been in "the business" for over a decade buying and selling personal properties when I decided to get my real estate sales agent license. I remember getting my first lead and realizing at that very moment that I didn't have a single clue what to do next! Oh how quickly real estate agents have to learn! It's sink or swim and it takes a lot of motivation, creativity, and drive -  not to mention money - to get yourself recognized and generate a steady stream of income. After navigating my way through my first transaction, I remember the excitement of getting my first commission check! But where was all my money? By the time I added up what it had cost me to get that lead, all the marketing dollars I had spent, all the gas driving all over town to show houses, all THAT TIME! I was sick to see that once my broker took their cut and I subtracted my costs, I cleared 0.14 CENTS on the deal...ouch! I found out quickly that real estate is a very competitive field and I knew I had to do things in a unique way to stand out from all the agents that I was competing against in my market. I went "all in" and made my real estate career a priority. Within two months, I went from getting a sales license to owning a brokerage - MY OWN BROKERAGE! Easy? No, but I'm passionate about real estate and I'm passionate about my business. Helping people realize their dream of becoming a homeowner made my "work" easy! I look back at my real estate career and think of all the joyful times it has brought me. I think of all the pride my clients have when they close on their new homes and the satisfaction my sellers feel once a deal is done.
